چکیده

The present study reported the synthesis and antihyperglycemic activity of 1,4-benzothiazepines (1,4-benzothiazepine-2-one derivatives) in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. (3a-i) were synthesized via Friedel-Crafts acylation, reduction microwave assisted S-alkylation reactions characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, proton nuclear magnetic resonance, mass elemental analysis. In silico absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion toxicity parameters compounds 3a-i found within their acceptable limits. acute study, none showed any risks such as tremor, convulsion, lacrimation, sedation, increased or decreased motor activity, etc., Wistar that reduced elevated blood glucose level significantly 3f, 3h 3i with electronegative substitution at 7 position benzothiazepine nucleus 2’ phenyl ring, better compared to other having weak substituent same position. was comparable metformin CGP37157. may be helpful development novel antidiabetic agents.

This study was aimed at investigating the antihyperglycemic and antidyslipidemic activity of Musa paradisiaca-based diets in alloxan-induced diabetic mellitus rats. Diabetes was induced by a single intraperitoneal injection of alloxan (150 mg/kg b.w) in 48 randomly selected rats. The rats were randomly grouped into four as follows: normal rats fed Dioscorea rotundata-based diet, diabetic contro...

The present study was undertaken to investigate the antihyperglycemic and antihyperlipidemic effects of ethanol extract of Plectranthus amboinicus in normal and alloxan-induced diabetic rats. Diabetes was induced in Wistar rats by single intraperitoneal administration of alloxan monohydrate (150 mg/kg). Normal as well as diabetic rats were divided into groups (n=6) receiving different treatment...

Antihyperglycemic Activity of Petroleum Ether Leaf Extract of Ficus krishnae L. on Alloxan-induced Diabetic Rats

The petroleum ether leaf extract of Ficus krishnae has been evaluated for the management of diabetes in alloxan induced diabetic rats. Phytochemical screening of the leaf extract for various chemical compounds has also been carried out. Leaf extract was administered continuously for 21 days orally at a dose of 200 mg/kg. Along with this, the blood glucose level was monitored at regular interval...

Antihyperglycemic and antihyperlipidemic effects of hydroalcoholic extract of Melissa officinalis (Lemon Balm) in alloxan-induced diabetic rats

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder of the endocrine system leading to increased blood glucose concentration in the patients. As a basic treatment for managing the blood glucose level, insulin or hypoglycemic medications are used but herbal medicines are more favored. The design of this research project was to study the therapeutic effect of hydroalcoholic extract of Melissa...
